Anthony Cartinella — Founder & Co-Owner, Black 35 Guitars
Anthony Cartinella is no stranger to the music industry. Over his 25+ years in the field, he founded the renowned custom drum company Dark Horse Percussion in 1998, crafting high-end custom drums for more than two decades while also launching several other successful ventures.
After selling Dark Horse in 2015, Anthony turned his passion toward building guitars—initially as a personal, post-Dark Horse creative outlet and therapy session. What began as a small hobby quickly grew into Black 35 Guitars, which has become his most successful venture to date. He shares the full story of this journey in his best-selling book, A Blessing and a Curse: The Business of Music, Monsters, and Mayhem.
Outside of Black 35, Anthony is a veteran educator and administrator in public schools with 27 years of service. He lives at the Jersey Shore with his family and is an avid Jaws collector and fisherman.
